Sarah Harris, Nursery Manager
Sarah is the new Nursery Manager at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend. Sarah started at Bridgend in November 2021 after returning from maternity leave and she has settled back into nursery life very well.

Sarah has worked within the childcare sector for 18 years, within that time she has worked in various roles and with children of all ages, whilst the last few years juggling full time work as well as raising 3 young children of her own. As a working parent, Sarah fully understands the needs of parents and works hard to ensure parents leave their little ones with us, knowing they are in safe hands.

In her spare time Sarah enjoys having fun with her 3 children, visiting the local beach and watching the sun set.

Whilst the nursery may look small from the outside, it’s very deceptive! We have a big team of dedicated, happy and respectful staff members who are all part of our friendly nursery family. Many of the team have been here since we started 21 years ago…which shows how much we love the place! We’re real “people, people” – we enjoy hosting family fun days for everyone to come and enjoy. We’re also a super-organised bunch – and as Manager, I like to be involved and plan out our daily activities to make sure children get the most out of every minute with us.

Our indoor space

We are housed in a demountable building, tucked away, towards the back of the hospital. We have dedicated rooms, all of which are bright and vibrant to engage our young audience.

Our main room which is used as our Toddler and Pre-School section is large, spacious and gives the children an excellent opportunity to enjoy both free play and structured activities. In our Baby and Tweenie section we have a fantastic Sensory Room which we mainly use for younger babies so that they can enjoy all of the various textures, sounds and lighting that the room has to offer.

Our outdoor space

We have a spacious and vibrant outdoor area adapted for all ages. The Toddler and Pre-School section has three separate textured gardens; one is a hard surface area that is used for bikes and scooters, playing in the playhouse, mud kitchen and chalking; the second is an exciting adventure area covered with bark, with four slides and various sized tyres for the children to play in; the third space is a grass area where the children enjoy playing in our wooden shelter area and growing vegetables in our ‘veg patch!

The Baby and Tweenie Section also has a garden area which gives little people an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in a safe and secure environment.

Towards the front of our nursery we have 5 parking spaces for parental convenience to drop off and collect their children.
