Awards and
Accreditations

Schoolhouse shines with our commitment to excellence and award-winning performance. Quality isn’t just a word- it’s a daily standard we uphold every day. We’re proud to showcase our numerous recognitions at each nursery site, and the smiles of our staff and children say it all!
As a team predominantly composed of women, we have a special appreciation for sparkly things, and over the years we’ve been honoured with many prestigious awards. These accolades not only showcase our outstanding performance but also distinguish us as a leader in early childhood. Here our just a few of our recent achievements:

Investors in People
In the summer of 2023, we proudly earned the Wellbeing Silver Award, underscoring our commitment to the wellbeing of both children and staff. Recognised as role models for future generations, we strive to help everyone achieve their potential.
As an Investor In People since 2004, we are thrilled to uphold the Gold Standard, highlighting our dedication to our 65 employees and our continuous growth as a leading childcare provider.
Our achievements include the IIP Leadership and Management model (2010) and the Wales Strategic Leadership Award, reflecting our leadership excellence and aligning with our values: ENJOY, LEARN, ENCOURAGE, NURTURE, and INSPIRE.
Our commitment to wellbeing, leadership, and continuous improvement keeps us at the forefront of childcare excellence.

NLP Practitioner and Leadership Programmes
At Schoolhouse, we believe in guiding, mentoring, and coaching our employees and teams to unlock their full potential. Recognising that everyone is unique, we have developed our own set of leadership behaviours that we aspire all staff to embed in their practice.
Driven by curiosity about Neuro Linguistic Programming and its powerful learning techniques, our Directors have earned a foundation degree in NLP.
Our Management team has taken a significant step forward by attending Schoolhouse’s bespoke Leadership Programme with Learning to Inspire, a renowned learning and development company. This achievement reflects our passion for leading, supporting, and motivating our nursery staff teams.

NDNA Quality Counts
As proud members of the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA), we actively engage in their enriching conferences, online learning sessions, and webinars. These opportunities allow us to stay at the forefront of early childhood education and care. Recently, we were honoured to be appointed as Swansea’s Chair for network meetings. This prestigious role enables us to lead and collaborate with other nurseries in the region, fostering a vibrant community of shared knowledge and best practice.
Consulting is pivotal for our future growth and development. Our Quality Counts accreditation status serves as a powerful platform to leverage the specialist knowledge and skills we possess in every area of our nursery provision. This esteemed accreditation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and excellence, surpassing the stringent requirements set by the Care Inspectorate Wales. We are dedicated to continually reviewing and enhancing the quality across all aspects of our nursery practice, ensuring that we provide the highest standard of care and education—a genuine indicator of quality!

National and Healthy Pre-school Scheme Award
Many of our nurseries have either achieved or are in the process of achieving the Healthy and Sustainable Pre School Scheme and National Quality Award. This prestigious award comes from the Welsh Government and recognises pre school settings that demonstrate a positive approach to health and the environment. The enthusiasm and engagement of our Pre School Co ordinator’s have been instrumental in our success. They have ensured that we meet high standards across seven key aspects: Health, Nutrition and Oral Health, Physical Activity and Active Play, Safety, Hygiene, Mental and Emotional Health, Wellbeing and Relationships, The Environment and Workplace Health and Wellbeing.

The Designed to Smile Award Scheme
At Schoolhouse, we take pride in nurturing healthy young smiles. We are delighted to be part of The Designed to Smile Award Scheme, which underscores our commitment to promoting better dental health for children. Whilst your child attends one of our nurseries, their dental care is our top priority. You can rest assured that their teeth will be well looked after – additionally we will provide free toothpaste and brushes to support your routine at home.

Food Hygiene Ratings
Our kitchens are undeniably the heartbeat of our nurseries. Here, the magic truly happens, thank to the combination of our Nursery cook’s passion and the delicious meals they create in a sparkling preparation area. This dedication and attention to detail have earned us the prestigious top rating of ‘5’ from the Food Standards Agency. Each nursery proudly displays its score at the entrance area, showcasing our commitment to excellence in food hygiene and safety.

CIW
Registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), all our nursery sites consistently celebrate successful annual inspections. We take immense pride in positive reports, which reflect our commitment to providing high quality care and education. These reports are available online through the CIW Website, ensuring transparency and allowing parents and guardians to review our performance and standards.

Welsh Promise Award
Having recently achieved the Bronze award, we are dedicated to actively developing the Welsh Language in our nursery settings and celebrating Welsh traditions and values. As part of our nursery day, we support an understanding of our wonderful Welsh culture through books, play and songs and rhymes. We encourage a true sense of ‘cynefin’- a welsh word that beautifully describes the feeling of being in a place where you truly belong.
As we embark on the next step of our journey towards the silver award, we have made a promise to embed the welsh language in to our daily routines. We look forward to providing more opportunities for our children, their families and our staff teams. We all take an active role in contributing to the Welsh Governments target of 1 million Welsh speakers by 2050.
